5 Thoughtful Gifts for Expecting Moms Who Have It All

9/4/2018

We all love a good baby registry list.

The adorable footie outfits, the cute little shoes, the soft and snuggly stuffed animals, the practical swaddles and blankets, early development toys, and on and on an on...

Yes, these are ALL necessities (well, minus the shoes...they are pointless regardless of their cuteness) and pretty fun to register for if you're a first time mom...

BUT...

If you're on #2, #3, #4.....

OR

If you're in my shoes, and have received the news of BLUE 5x in a row...

There is not much left that you will need for your little one, aside from diapers, of course! No items on a registry that you don't already have stashed away somewhere in your house.

BUT...

There's still a little part of you that would like **something** to celebrate your new little life who's on their way to join your family.

ENTER THE 5 MOST THOUGHTFUL GIFTS FOR EXPECTING MOMS WHO HAVE IT ALL!!

My friends and family are masters of thinking outside the box, and without them, there would be no list like this in existence...

THE BEST GIFTS THIS MOMMA OF *almost* 5 EVER RECEIVED...

...wasn't something you could scan onto a registry...

...wasn't something I had to find a home for in our closets or drawers...

...wasn't something I had to wash or clean daily...

BUT IT WAS...

...something that saved me time...

...something that saved my sanity...

...something my baby would NEVER grow out of...

...AND something that made me SO HAPPY because I would have never bought it for myself.

If you're looking for the PERFECT GIFT for a family member or friend who is expecting, someone who seems to have it ALL already...

These 5 Thoughtful Gifts for Expecting Moms Who Have It All has you covered!!
5 Thoughtful Gifts for Expecting Moms Who Have It All | Dwelling Well Mom Blog
Let me start off by saying that creating a baby registry is a right of passage for first time moms, and there is NO SHAME in the registry game!

I LOVED strolling the isles, scanner in hand, world at my fingertips (or so it seemed), as we anticipated the use of each and every little item that our son would soon be using!

If this is your first time around...I HIGHLY SUGGEST setting up SEVERAL registries.

Friends and family will want to spoil this little bundle of joy, and people have different preferred methods of shopping...

Some will want a brick and mortar store to browse your list in person...

Some will want to scroll, click, purchase, and ship, all at the work of their fingertips.

After our first son was born, we were set! Friends and family threw us an amazing baby shower, helped us check off everything on our registries, and spoiled this little guy rotten. We knew then that **IF** we had another boy, we wouldn't need a thing!

And with each pregnancy, as we continued to get the news that our first son would be getting brother after brother after brother after brother (you counted correctly...thats 5 total boys for us!), we continued to tell friends and family that we just didn't need much of anything.

HOWEVER...

I learned the hard way while expecting boy #2, that just because we didn't "need" anything, didn't mean I didn't "need" anything.

All you mommas know that even when we say, "we're fine", "we're good with what we have"...what we're really feeling is, "yes, it would be nice to celebrate this baby, but I don't want to burden you for another baby shower," or "yes, even though this baby doesn't need anything, it sure would be nice to be pampered a little bit this time around."

We just don't SAY IT.

Well, I'm going to say it for you.

Mommas, YOU NEED TO BE CELEBRATED!

You are carrying life. You are growing a miracle.

***And this goes for adoptive mommas too!! You are walking a road that may look a little different, but in the end, you are celebrating a life that will be in your care, and celebrating the miracle of adding to your family!***

So, for you mommas who don't know what to ask for...
OR
For you friends and family members who need a gift idea for the mom with it all...

Here's 5 Thoughtful Gifts for Expecting Moms Who Have It All
1. GROCERY SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

As we received news that we were excepting our TWINS (#3 & #4), my sister-in-law immediately saw the need for a grocery delivery service for our family. As their due date approached, my mobility came to a screeching hault, as did my ability to get out of the house after they arrived. This gift was such a blessing. Now, as we await #5, my sweet in-laws gave a gift of a local pick up service that has truly been a game changer!

Here's just a few ideas to get you started, however, make sure to check with the grocery store chains in your area!!
  • Whole Foods -FREE delivery for Amazon Prime Members (START A FREE TRIAL HERE)
  • Shipt - Target  - check the availability in your area here
  • Instacart - Publix - check the availability in your area here
  • Amazon Fresh - An additional $14.99/month for Prime Members (START YOUR FREE TRAIL HERE

2. AMAZON PRIME MEMBERSHIP

I truly believe that I am the last mother on the planet to hop on the Amazon Prime bandwagon.

Trying to be as frugal as we can, we waited around to see if their subscription price ever "went on sale"....years went by, and we never saw the deal we were waiting on...so it just never happened.

Enter my best friend. She found out we were living "Amazonless" and gifted us with a subscription as a we await baby #5.
Amazon is such a great gift for moms because it gives us freedom to be "last minute" without the consequences. Brain space is a very precious thing for us, as we have so little of it left by the end of the day...so give her the gift (or ask for the gift) of Amazon Prime!!

If you want to truly bring tears to an expecting mommas eyes...GIVE HER THE GIFT OF AMAZON PRIME HERE!

3. DIAPER SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

For the mom who has it all...I bet she still needs diapers!! What a blessing it would be to sign her up for a diaper subscription service where she NEVER had to think twice about running out of diaper or wipes!!

Over the past several years, diapering 4 kiddos (and one set of twins), this type of service has saved my sanity more than a handful of times. These are the companies I love!
Honest Company

With great customer services, and LOTS of other baby products to choose from, not to mention the cutest prints around, this subscription would be such a great gift!!

Signing up for a subscription will save you 17% off the price you'll find elsewhere. For $79.95/month, you get 7 packs of diapers and 4 packs of wipes delivered right to your door!!!

That'll make any mom of littles SMILE!!

USE CODE: CHEEKY50 for 50% OFF YOUR FIRST ORDER (offer valid through 9/11/18)!!

4. KEURIG COFFEE MAKER

I am a firm believer in the magical powers of coffee.

It helps me go to bed at night...knowing that no matter what time I am woken up by little cries, I at least have coffee waiting on me.

It helps me have a moment of peace (even without the quiet) as I sip as many sips of the hot deliciousness as I can (which is usually about 5 on a good day) before attending to the mayhem.

What better gift to give a mommy than the gift of promised relief of a sleepless night...of immediate gratification of hot caffeine in her veins?

And to top it off...you can make a little goodie basket of all sort of flavors!! Win Win!

5. PRENATAL MASSAGE

"The goal of prenatal massage is to help prepare the body and mind for childbirth."

Sometimes, all an expecting mom needs is a little pampering and relaxing, especially if she's already caring for lots of little ones already.

Prenatal massages are a great gift to get mom-to-be out of the house and enjoy some  peace and quiet.

Not only does it feel amazing and leave you feel like you're walking on air afterwards, these massages are also very beneficial to an expecting moms body.

"Prenatal massage can help alleviate back and hip pain associated with a growing uterus, while also understanding the body mechanics necessary to facilitate proper positioning to expedite labor. " -Kristi Gabriel, LMT at Healing Waters Therapy

**it's important to verify your massage therapist is certified and experienced in prenatal massage***

I know what some of you are thinking...

"I can't spend that much on one of my mommy friends!"

I get it!

Here's an idea...

You could throw your sweet mommy friend a simple little get together with close family and friends and ask guests to add $10-20 cash in lieu of gifts so that you can surprise her with one of these 5 THOUGHTFUL GIFTS!

I know I would love that!!

And I hope you or your expecting mommy friend will too!

Congratulations on baby #5! 😊 I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my first and wish I would have never made a registry. No one bought ANYTHING on my list! This list is so spot on and so practical. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you, Kristy! My daughter is expecting twins, and she has 4 girls already. This was so practical in giving me ideas for her. Not sure if the twins are girls or boys yet, or one of each, but I really appreciated your suggestions. Thank you! And may the Lord bless your delivery with blessing, peace, and speed. :)
