I have been honored and blessed to be a part of the Raising Godly Boys Series over at Intentional In Life Blog. Every day this month, moms of boys have been sharing their insights, wisdom, prayers, and struggles as they have walked the path of raising their boys to become godly men. Since the Lord has given me the official platform of "BOY MOM," giving me and my husband the hefty role of raising 5 boys in a world that wants the opposite for them than we do, we are grasping at every resource and opportunity to join forces with others walking this line to raise godly men and godly leaders...both in their homes and in the world around them. "Sibling rivalry isn’t a new concept. It’s bound to happen in each and every family regardless of age between and gender of siblings. When I picture “rivalry”, I think of an army of men on horseback, charging with swords drawn, determined to overcome their enemy…regardless of the consequences. And in our house, sibling rivalry has been just that…well, minus the horses. We learned very early on that consequences and threats, no matter how severe, would not sway the internal or external battles waging between our boys. After one too many fights with no resolve or desire to change, I knew I had to help my boys see their sin in a new light. So, I decided I needed my own battle plan…I needed to approach their sin with this same idea….that there is a battle going on in their hearts." Donna, thank you for the encouragement! It is definitely all about our hearts, and I find that if my heart isn't right, I am not able to help train theirs! So, I do pray we as moms take the time to examine our hearts first and then search for the wisdom to impact the hearts of the ones we are shepherding. Thanks for reading!
